  1. Lightly entertaining. Works in places, but not substantial overall.
  2. To Hear the World in a Grain of Sand (Soul Note)
  3. Jimmy Knepper Sextet: Tell Me ...
  4. Chicago Boogie (Barrelhouse)
  5. You may well be correct. I'm not a musician. This is an article in the section of The Times that deals with NYC and NYC area people, so that's how it came to be.
  6. Some good stories: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/01/nyregion/the-exacting-art-of-saxophone-repair.html
  7. Magic Sam - Shakey Jake: Magic Touch - Live at Sylvio's 1968 (Black Magic)
  8. Mark Helias: Split Image (Enja)
  9. Orchestre Sim-Sim International (Plainisphare)
  10. Good to hear. I wish I had your breadth of knowledge and taste in classical music. Same here.
  11. I didn't partake in your blindfold test - not my thing - but it appears that you put together a very good batch of music, a fair number of which I have in my own collection. Nice to see James Booker and Blind Willie Johnson mixed in with the jazz cuts.
  12. Thanks for the positive comment. I'm always surprised (though pleasantly) when someone else knows and likes some of the music I listen to.
  13. Leroy Jenkins: The Legend of Ai Glatson (Black Saint)
  14. Windy City Blues 1935 - 1953 (Nighthawk)
  15. Dembo Konte & Kausu Kuyateh: Simbomba (Rogue)
  16. For J.R., being a knucklehead isn't a tendency. It's a way of life.
  17. It's always Monk's Time.
  18. Wild finish. And J.R. Smith adds more idiocy to his resume.
