"You Can Depend on Me" and Pee Wee Russell?

I love this version of "I Didn't Know About You."

Katumbo (Dance) is alright. Not essential in any way imo, but I'm enjoying it.

Sun Ra's "My Brother the Wind Vol. 1" the new, expanded, reissue on Cosmic Myth out this week. I was away from home all day yesterday traveling to and from and visiting one of my sister-in-laws in Narwalk, OH and this package was left on my porch by UPS before a heavy downpour of rain occurred. Though the digipak was sealed. . . it was soaked and falling apart. Even the underside of the cd was soaked. So I ordered a new copy and am listening to the CD but can't read the notes or discographic info. This is very different from Vol. 2 which I have on Evidence. . .very free jazz and freaky Moog. Sound is very good, which is what I expect going forward with these new reissues from the Sun Ra archives.

I'm living close to that boondocky country location. . . I have a state nature preserve on the other side of our narrow little road and not many neighbors and live half a mile from a man-made lake state park. I get about thirty cars total a workday go up and down the road, rarely are there two crossing each other on the road. Very quiet (except for the sounds of wind and bugs and birds) and very dark at night. It's like paradise imo.

There was a time I played the Nat Cole set most. . . so much to go through and I loved it. Still do, just don't play Cole as often. This year I've been hitting the Armstrong ones hard, and the Condons. My first was the Blakey and it has gotten a lot of play over the years.

New Japanese reissue from Solid Records. Funky! (Sounds a little funky too. . .could have been better recorded).

20 Bit K2 US version This album always sucks me in. . . .

The second session on this reissue truly jazzes me. It's music that keeps dishing out seconds and thirds.

The new SHM-CD. Boy does this sound good.
