    Bob Dylan corner

Got an interesting email today. I've pre-ordered "The Witmark Demos" from Amazon. They sent this email: "We're writing to let you know you'll receive a Bonus CD with your recent order. "Bob Dylan: In Concert, Brandeis University, 1963" has never been heard, bootlegged or circulated in any way and will arrive to you with the CD you've ordered." Wowwee! I wasn't expecting this.
  9. September 20: Joe Temperley, baritone sax, 1929 Billy Bang, violin, 1947
  10. So is the general consensus in the jazz community that he is a phony? He seems genuine enough in the interview that I linked to. The "jazz community" is much larger and more diverse than just those who post here. There are many, including myself, who enjoyed the series - who were greatly appreciative of the many clips provided, and also got a lot out of the talking head interviews (including Wynton's - turns out he's a much better teacher than composer or bandleader). Ultimately, the series is a good resource. Most posters here are simply encouraging you to watch the series and form your own opinion.

    Moondog

Better you should try some Ornette. LOL. I don't want to hijack this thread. But REALLY, was Ornette soloing on Tenor Madness, or was he just trotting out his riffs and disregarding the song? I vote for the latter.
  14. September 17: Brother Jack McDuff, organ, 1926 David Williams, bass, 1946
