I picked up the Orbitrac2 system as well, Patricia. It's actually better to clean the records with this system on a regular table/flat surface instead of on your turntable. I've been getting decent results, too. PM me if you need help.

Hi Andy, I just found out about the update on that site. I was gonna post here, but you already did...nearly 2 months ago! I'm reprinting the inserts now.

Movin' & Groovin' was announced as being part of Classic Records reissues for 2006. It will be mine... God, I love that cover...but this isn't the best scan. I'm hoping for a beautiful purple on the Classic...

The liner notes for one of 'em, the 80's pressing I think, seemed to state that the title track is really the most successful track on the session...I can't tell is that is meant as a slight towards the other tracks or not?

Aren't there versions by Bill Evans, too?

Ya know, I recently got the Classic Records 200gm MONO version of this and I have to say, I much prefer the stereo mix over the mono one. Just something about how Teena & Freddie blend their horns but then make little statements outside of that blend that the stereo mix just makes 'em jump out of the speakers. The mono just doesn't do this...

Kevin, The Classic DAD is real nice, too... And I recently picked up the Classic 180gm cuz I could get it for $12.50. It's very fine, as well. I'm gonna try to overlook what I read here re: the squeak. That stuff can bother me too. I hope I don't hear it , darn it. That title track is quite a burner, though...

Howdy RobertH., Wow, I guess I was wrong about you. You really have spent some time there. Thanks for your thoughtful reply and for sharing your opinions. I don't quite see it the way you do, but I'm glad to have your perspective. However, for as much as you say you don't like the activity on the SH board, you do seem to be following it pretty well. Do you lurk there a lot? I do often wonder how system-dependent these types of listening comparisons are...? Peace...

I agree that is a bit condescending, but try not to be offended J.A.W. The posts at the SH forum can get a bit over the top. I do find the place to be an EXTEMELY useful resource for learning infinite, minute details about the music I love. That's really the main vibe of that place, IMO. People who love music, and don't hesitate in being passionate when discussing it, kinda like around here. And when listening to the music they love, they want to hear it in the best possible sound quality. A great place to learn about cds/lps to avoid. My advice: take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt. Take it in, but always use your own judgment, and yes, your own ears. I think SH once said, "What sounds good to me, may not sound good to you..." Sound advice, I believe...(please ignore the pun) I have begun friendships there with several persons who I consider to be some of the best I've ever met. Same with this board. You know, I guess I am sort of offended by calling it "Hoffman's publicity board." Not that Steve Hoffman needs me to defend him, but I think that's way off mark. Publicity for what? For good sound? How can that be a bad thing? Offering a place for people to discuss music, in a well-moderated fashion, can only be a good thing. I never seen SH as one who spends time tooting his own horn. He offers great insight on how to get good sound, and has a lot of experience with the master tapes so I really believe he's pretty qualified to make some of his judgment calls. Geez, he even recently had another "field trip" invitation to board members to attend the mastering of "Bill Evans Trio at Shelly's Manne Hole", and some other lp I forget right now, for the Analogue Productions 45-RPM Lp. How fucking cool is that? I'm really not out to attack you personally Robert H., but I'm not sure if you've actually spent much time on that board to warrant unkind/unfair remarks like that. Please let me know if I'm wrong here; maybe without calling me a wanker, too. I'm not usually an internet-policeman...just another POV is all... (gets down off soapbox)
