  1. Jungle Love-Morris Day & The Time a 45 rpm single...
  2. Gotcha...thanks Larry!
  3. Pearl Jam - Riot Act new appreciation for this one lately...just got the vinyl this weekend. on the sound!
  4. No, it's not. It's on CD on Chief, issued in 1989. Don't know it that's still available. In any case, it's about as important as music gets. Well, I apologize if I'm wrong. I had a hunch it might be, and then I checked the entry here: Nos 1 & 2 But you're sure, huh? Chuck? Chuck: Can you give us the definitive answer on this, please? ( Word! ) Purty please?
  5. Shine on you crazy diamond... RIP -------------------------- I WILL have those solo records by the end of the month!!! Mark my words!
  6. Muddy Waters at Newport - Chess :bwallace2:
  7. Hi Tony, Yep, I know what you're talking about. But as I've learned more and listened to some of these records it seems as though the technique can produce decent results. The post "Moanin'" albums that I've heard mono versions of have usually sounded just great. Same with the 200gm monos done by Bernie Grundman for Classic Records. It seems Rudy did this to have "more" control with setting balances when doing the mono mix by recording to 2-track stereo. Bernie Grundman uses Rudy's technique of folding in the channels 50/50 per Rudy's instructions (I'm getting this from the ads; you've seen 'em, I'm sure). And I do recall how SH had said something like it's really not the best way to go about doing a mono recording, and I'm sure that's probably true, but I'll be darned if I don't go ahead and enjoy 'em quite a lot. I guess I just take these things on a case by case basis. Just my two cents...
  8. I think the JRVG of Demon's Dance sounds like poo...
  9. Especially for a Wookie.
  10. If this were to happen, I would do cartwheels for a solid hour!!! Chewy, you're brilliant!

  12. Okay...listened on the way to downtown Denver today... It's just a sweet session, with the usual personality-laced tunes that Duke always seemed to come up with. And SoulStream: I hear what you mean about the "floating" feeling. Over nearly the entire set...at least the first 4 tracks. Enjoyed it. Edited cuz I accidental called SoulStream, "Lon." Sorry, I get confused somethimes...
  13. Hey Mark: Don't you already have the AEC 67/68 box? Cuz this music is on there, or are looking to rock this set analog? heh...
  14. I hope things get better, Lon.
  15. I'll throw it in the bag for today.
  16. I thought I had Thin Lizzy's "Dedication: The Best Of Thin Lizzy" at the top of my queue, but I must've been hallucinating. So it look's like it's gonna be "Looking Around" by Sergio Mendes and his merry band of girls & boys. Should be good summer listening, eh? P.S. I'll make a "Jailbreak" next month...heh...
  17. Well, we're gettin' there!
  18. TOCJ = Toshiba Compact Jazz. There are TOCP's as well. = Toshiba Compact Pop But here we use TOCJ to denote the "Blue Note Works" series that Claude refers to. This is only when discussing Blue Notes, and their affilitated labels (i.e. Pacific Jazz). The Japanese RVGs we refer to as JRVGs, even though their catalog numbers begin with TOCJ. The K2 technology was also used on the domestic & Japanese XRCD series by JVC. BTW, I liked Clunky's answer the best. LMAO... --- LJazz: that means Laughing My Ass Off...heh...
  19. Tired Jimmy Smith BNs? Which ones would those be exactly? -_-
  20. Perhaps for the same reasons I enjoyed Ken Burns' Civil War and Baseball series: I did not know enough about the subjects to detect (and be bothered by) the many errors and omissions. It was different when I saw his Jazz series--that opened my eyes to his sloppy approach, so I went back and read reviews of the other programs--sure enough, I had missed the flaws. Guess ignorance can be bliss. Well, I guess you stated this about as politely as you could. Thanks. Seriously.
  21. I do a scan/stitch job, too. I guess you could go to Kinkos...they probably have a large-format one. -_-
  22. Good love never dies... I'm real happy for you guys. Yer lucky to have each other.
  23. Incredible... So, how did I end up enjoying this movie?
  24. Hope yer day is great, Clinton. Happy Birthday to Clinton!
