It's a newish purchase so I'm not best positioned to give a long distance forecast but there's nothing no to like. Carla Bley's sometimes beautiful pieces are very much to the fore. A proper quintet record with strong contributions from all concerned. I like it.

Do you know his earlier ICP album "Handicaps"? He recorded that while recovering from a broken wrist, so he decided to "handicap" his double bass too by putting a plaster cast around its neck. A free improv concept album, as it were...

A recent purchase, old hat to many I suppose. This group really cooks, especially in "Recado Bossa Nova". I love Harold Mabern and Billy Higgins in that tune.
