HutchFan Posted June 11, 2019 Report Posted June 11, 2019 Sonny Stitt - Blues for Duke (Muse, rec. 1975) with Barry Harris, Sam Jones and Billy Higgins One of the best Ellington tributes I've heard. Quote
HutchFan Posted June 13, 2019 Report Posted June 13, 2019 Cal Tjader at Grace Cathedral (Fantasy, 1977) Good fun. Quote
sidewinder Posted June 13, 2019 Report Posted June 13, 2019 (edited) ‘Trombone By Three’ (Esquire, mono). Another £3 sleeveless special - Kai Winding, JJ and Bennie Green sessions from Prestige, RVG in the runout. Very good sound - in fact this LP looks unplayed. My guess is that this, like the Lester Young, was old warehouse stock which has been rediscovered. If anyone has a spare sleeve, let me know. Edited June 13, 2019 by sidewinder Quote
