RDK Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Watched it earlier today. Looks promising. Quote
Alexander Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Nice trailer...but can anyone tell me how Anikan Skywalker is going to age from this: To this: In a little over Luke's lifetime which is, what, less than 25 years? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 That's what evil does to you I guess. Shit, the emperor is only 38! Quote

Rooster_Ties Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 (edited) Get the teaser trailer here Based on that trailer, "III" looks quite a bit better and more interesting than "I" was. (I never saw "II", since I thought "I" was so bad.) Wonder how confused I'll be if I go see "III" not having seen "II"?? I thought "I" was nothin' but eye candy. Brilliant, dazzling eye candy, but still -- nothin' but eye candy. And mostly horible acting (IMHO), though you can hardly fault the actors entirely for having to work with such a rotten script, and goofy story-line (again, all IMHO). I thought the first three ("IV", "V", and "VI") were a hundred times better than "I". How was "II" compared to "I"?? Edited November 7, 2004 by Rooster_Ties Quote
Big Wheel Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 (edited) Nightmarish. Although I admit I didn't think Episode I was so horrible. It was so bad people were laughing at lines that were clearly not supposed to be funny, and laughing harder at the hecklers making fun of the lines. Hayden Christensen may have delivered the worst performance I have ever seen. For a film set a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, his diction sure sounded a lot like he was auditioning to be in a boy band on Earth, circa 1998. Edited November 7, 2004 by Big Wheel Quote
sal Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 (edited) How was "II" compared to "I"?? I thought "II" was much better than "I". Not quite as corny as "I" (but still corny in parts), and a bit more exciting. Although I agree that these new movies don't even compare to the old ones, which I consider to be timeless classics. jazzbo Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 (edited) You know, I haven't ever watched the original three but one time in the theaters when first released. I don't personally consider them timeless classics. They were fun. I actually have enjoyed I and II MORE than these . . . .(Yes, I know I am different, even weird!) Visually they are better and I like the undercurrents within them of politics and philosphy, love and loyalty. And to be honest I really enjoyed having Natalie Portman in the films. . . . I think she's so beautiful. Edited November 7, 2004 by jazzbo Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 The dark side's callin' now, nothin' is real She'll never know just how I feel From out of the shadows she walks like a dream Makes me feel crazy, makes me feel so mean Ain't nothin' gonna save you from a love that's blind When you slip to the dark side you cross that line On the dark side, oh yeah On the dark side, oh yeah Quote
