In the years 1962 and 1963 latin jazz had a very good spell and a lot of albums were released.I have only got a few of these.A few BN ( Ike Quebec Soul Samba, Charlie Rouse Bossa Nova) and a couple of OJC, but do you have any suggestions for my collection? Thanks ^_^

Here are some CD issues from my collection:

Cal Tjader Plays The Contemporary Music of Mexico and Brazil - Verve 543 380-2

Cal Tjader - Soña Libré - Verve 815 058-2

Mongo Santamaria - At The Blackhawk - Fantasy FCD-24734-2

Mongo Santamaria - Mongo Introduces La Lupe - Milestone MCD-9210-2

Mongo Santamaria - Watermelon Man - Milestone MCD-47075-2

Mongo Santamaria - Skins - Milestone MCD-47038-2

Benny Velarde / Francisco Aguabella - Ay Que Rico! - Fantasy FCD-24731-2

I found those Blue Notes not to be very deeply Latin - the above are more how I personally think it should be done.

Vince Guaraldi- The Latin Side Of Vince Guaraldi- Fantasy (not sure on the date of this)

All the CD liner says is "early 1960's", but from my knowledge of the chronology of the Fantasy catalogue I would place it in 1964.

Not the most convincing Guaraldi recording. Many of these bossa-tinged albums are a little on the lightweight side, IMHO, but of course it's all a matter of taste.
