l p
i have a couple of questions. there was a weblink of a library, or organization that had all the nyc net 'soul tv' shows listed from the 60's/70's. can anyone supply that link. also, does the drummer bob moses hum along to his playing sometimes, kind of like bud powell. thanks
Stefan Wood
This wouldn't be the same Soul series that featured jazz artists like Lee Morgan, Bobbi Humphry, Horace Silver, etc. There was a viewing at the Library of Congress a few weeks ago of some of the episodes. They only have a few seasons on file, but what they have is great viewing. There was a recent discussion of it in the Live Shows thread, I believe. l p
yes, it's the same soul tv shows. net-tv, nyc. hosted by Ellis Haizlip. a company had acquired all the episodes, and had like 20-30 listed on their webiste, with details for each show. it was mostly soul music, but quite a bit of jazz episodes as well. Big Wheel
Dunno if anyone has posted about this on the board (searching for "soul" doesn't really work) but in case they haven't, here are some episodes I've been enjoying: http://www.thirteen.org/soul/ Edited March 2, 2009 by Big Wheel
bigtiny
Bob doesn't so much as hum along, a la Bud or Keith Jarrett as he just full out sings along with his playing! bigtiny
