worst jazz song of all time

I don't know - to me the worst jazz song is anything written by Leonard Feather - if you don't believe me ask Chris Albertson -

Leonard and his ersatz blues lyrics--very annoying. But not as annoying as his piano playing--how many sessions Leonard organized did he ruin with his clunky, inert approach to the keyboard?

I dunno: I've always liked the 2 Ellington versions of Mighty Like the Blues. (Did Feather produce either of those sessions?)

I used to really dislike "Send in the Clowns" until i heard Carmen McRae sing it in a small club. She sold me!.........Also thought the song with "somebody left the cake out in the rain" was pretty lame (well, it is pretty lame) until I heard Maynard Ferguson's band live..... MacArthur Park I think.

this dude was scatting (and rhyming) the names of every bass player in jazz. he was all: theres gary peacock and ron carter, wilbur ware and isreal crosby etc but it all rhymed. it made me sick

You are lucky he didn't sing a song about "overlooked bassists" inspired by our threads. ;)

There are more days than not when 'My Funny Valentine' would come to mind.

Probably not so much the song, in fairness, as the number of (often dreadful) renditions of it.

It seems like a kajillion.
