Guest che
Hi all. I was having a conversation with my son this evening, he is 15 and he is 'into' rap and hip hop, some of which I like. Over the years I have tried to introduce him to jazz, as I have my other children. But as my daughter said to me the other day " How can you listen to music with no words dad!?" So he asked me how I got interested in Jazz music. Anyway I told him the tale of how I became interested in jazz, a story of my own father being interested in 'trad jazz' and the music of Bix and Jelly Roll. At the time I thought it was ok, not great and then I was given a Sonny Stitt album and there was a connection, and the rest as they say is history. So how did you people get interested in Jazz? Che. tonym
I stumbled across this site. Prior to that, hated the stuff. Wanker's music. Couldn't stay away though and now I'm like "Hello everyone, my name is Tony and..... I'm ....a wanker...."

Guest che
I remember a time when my Dad asked me to listen to Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five and Seven. I though 'Oh God not that music again!". Now I realise that this is some of the finest jazz/music ever recorded. Che.

catesta
So how did you become interested in Jazz? Che. Tonym turned me onto it. I was surfing for porn, found this site by accident, was about to leave and I then saw the word "wanker" used in a post. My curiosity was peaked! No real porno here, but some pretty good music recommendations. I've been hooked ever since.
