Soulstation1 Posted March 28, 2005 Author Report Posted March 28, 2005 that shit just messed up my chance of winning the ncaa pool i was the only person to have kentucky(+ 50 points) in the final and that was my ace in the hole GO BIG TEN!!! Quote
ejp626 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Awesome. Perhaps the best set of Elite Eight games ever. I'm hoping for Illinois and Michigan State in the finals. That would be incredible. Actually I wonder if it has ever ended up with two teams from the same conference in the Finals. I don't think it has ever been two Big 10 teams but I could be wrong. Quote
Big Al Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Helluva finish in that Michigan game! Had the whole family over rooting for them! It'll be interesting if the Illini faces Michigan in the finals! My folks are Illini fans; my in-laws, of course, will be pulling for Michigan! That'll be a fun night, if that happens! (Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!Ihope!!!!!!) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Big Al... that's Michigan State! Michigan is that other school... you know... the one that sucks at basketball. Quote
Big Al Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Ah well, it's all Michigan, and that's all my in-laws care about! Quote
Quincy Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) Awesome. Big Ten - 1976 Indiana beat Michigan in the finals. That was Indiana's undefeated team. Big East finals match up happened in '85 when Villanova beat Georgetown by 2. There may be more, but those two stick out. Edited March 28, 2005 by Quincy Quote
ejp626 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Well, I said I could be wrong. I'm not a scholar of such things. Anyway, it would be super sweet if it is an Illinois-State final. If that happens though, Illinois should win, since they are inside the heads of the State players. Jim, the beauty of college hoops is that it is even more cyclical than the NBA. Michigan did suck this year and last year, but they'll be back. I had the pleasure of being at Michigan the year they won it all (what a game though why they let Seton Hall stick around that long into double OT is beyond me) and even saw a few of the players in my dorm (I lived in South Quad -- the athletes' dorm). And while the Fab Five that came right after that didn't fully live up to the hype, they were still a lot of fun to watch. Actually, the Fab Five (in their various incarnations) have really been a let down once they hit the NBA. I suppose Juwan Howard is still a solid player, but Chris Webber never lived up to the hype and Jalen Rose has turned into such a whiney baby. Quote

After seeing Illinois against MSU earlier this year, I knew Illinois would win the title. I've never seen a college team play the way they do. NC doesn't have a chance. The MSU Ladies pulled off an amazing comeback! That was awesome! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted April 4, 2005 Author Report Posted April 4, 2005 i'm goin' with illinois, but i would not be suprised if unc won may should have a big game and control the middle ss1 Quote
