Jim Alfredson Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 This is the dumbest thing I've seen in a long, long time: http://www.guitarcenter.com/clapton335/ Hey Joe, quick... let's stencil "organissimo" on your Ibanez case so in 40 years people will make replicas of it! "The case was aged to look like it was stored between a Hammond B3 and the front seats of a minivan packed to the rim with gear, just like organissimo had to do back in 2005!" Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 20, 2005 Author Report Posted July 20, 2005 Damn. I knew there was a catch. Are there special Signature Clapton Guitar Cables, too? Quote
7/4 Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Damn. I knew there was a catch. Are there special Signature Clapton Guitar Cables, too? ← Don't think so! Quote
Joe G Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Did Clapton ever do the Plaster Casters thing? I mean, you might as well go for the whole shebang! Quote
Jazz Kat Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Joe, how's your Ibanez, I just bought one. I love it! Quote
Jazz Kat Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 My first jazz style guitar. I was looking really silly playing straight ahead jazz on a Fender strat. lol, it's beautiful. Quote
Sundog Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 The stenciling on that case almost guarantees the guitar will be stolen. P.S. Nice Ibanez JK. Quote

casanovas347 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 The stenciling on that case almost guarantees the guitar will be stolen. ← specially if you stencil "organissimo" on it! @ Jim: don't forget the eric-clapton-signatured tea.....with special guitar-magic-powder! http://www.hardrockjapan.com/merchandise/200408_clapton.asp lol Quote
7/4 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 I wonder what a B-3 plugged into that pedal sounds like. Quote
slide_advantage_redoux Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 That case copy is hilarious. Here is my '79 Ibanez Artist 2630. I spotted it in a pawn shop for only $599! In its OHSC too - with the key. Needs a pickguard though. Any ideas? I had to have it rewired though, because the coil tap wasn't finctional. After that repair, and a good set up, this baby plays like a dream. Being a closet guitar player, it has much more potential than I do! Quote

Kalo Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Every time I see the title of this thread I think, "Why would anyone WANT to sound like Clapton?" Just getting it off my chest. Quote
AllenLowe Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 (edited) I agree, but emulation is a funny thing - let's not forget all the horn players who started shooting up because they thought it might help them get closer to Bird - at least the Clapton pedal doesn't require any needles - Edited July 29, 2005 by AllenLowe Quote
