GregN Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Big O Records and organissimo are getting much in the way of national airplay. This is exciting. Jim, Joe, and Randy are very fortunate to have such a cool bunch of folks here showing such love and support. Big O Records next release, due out this November, will feature Jimmy's other band Root Doctor and the tracks are sounding great. Recorded in the same world class studio as organissimo's CDs, by Glenn Brown, it will highlight even more of Jimmy's musical diversity, it features a track of Jimmy's fine singing voice. Joe has preordered twenty copies already. With all that said, the goal of all Big O Artists is to create and share. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, maybe an occassional deli tray at gigs would be cool. Greg Nagy Big O Records org rep RD Guitarist Hat Salesman Quote
Ed S Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 I went to the Root Doctor site the other day and listened to the tracks available. That is some wicked-ass shit, I kid you not. I'm looking forward to hearing the new disc and hope you keep us apprised of the progress toward release. Fellow organissimonians - if you're at all into r&b/blues, definitely worth checking out. I may even have heard some of these tunes, assuming Jim snuck em in on some of the live gigs. Ooops, just remembered...I've got to call Susan at Firefly. Back later.... Quote
scottb Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Jim you're a busy man! Root Doctor has a pretty busy schedule. With the Organissimo gigs as well how do you have so much time to post on this site? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 I am a busy man. Thanks for the kind words, Ed, but those tracks on the site are OLD. The new stuff from the upcoming CD are really killin'. I've been playing with RD for 7 years now and they've been my bread and butter bar band and not much more but Greg has really helped me light a fire under their collective asses and I think this new CD is something that I will be very proud of... not unlike my discs with the mighty organissimo. PHILLYQ Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Jim, Please let us know when the disc is released- I'd like to get one. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Jim, Please let us know when the disc is released- I'd like to get one. ← Will do... There has always been an incredible amount of hidden potential with RD and I'm very excited that it's finally being realized. Freddie Cunningham, the lead singer, has one of the most amazing baritone voices you'll ever hear. Quote

I feel like I am waayyy over my head. Regardless, there is something kinda neat about doing the grassroots thing. Quote
