Aggie87 Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 FYI - Towerrecords.com is having a Garage Sale at the present, with a number of titles @ 50% off. I just ordered Cecil Taylor's "Tzotzil/Mummers/Tzotzil", Gateway 2 on ECM, and Marc Ribot's "Works of Frantz Casseus". Oh, and also the Grateful Dead's "Dick's Picks Vol 14" (which is 4 discs, for $12.99). Free shipping on orders over $20... Quote
bertrand Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Is there a link for a specific part of the site where these reside, or do I have to browse? Thanks, Bertrand. Quote
Aggie87 Posted August 22, 2005 Author Report Posted August 22, 2005 Oops, sorry: Tower Garage Sale The link is to the general garage sale page. You'll have to browse by genre, artist, etc. at that point. Quote
Tjazz Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Tower also has the Four Freshman (9) Mosaic set for 1/2 price. Quote
Guy Berger Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 (edited) Wow... a very eclectic set of CDs for sale. Lots of Italian jazz (some Black Saint and Soul Note titles) as well as lots of those intriguing weird European ECMs that never make it out to the states. (Masqualero, Jon Balke, etc) I bought: Joe Henderson & Chick Corea at Montreux (w/Gary Peacock & Roy Haynes) Tomas Stanko, Matka Joanna Dave Holland, Seeds of Time Paul Bley with Gary Peacock Mat Maneri, In Full Cry Any thoughts on the Maneri & Stanko? I'm a little pissed at myself for ordering these CDs, but ECMs for $9!!! plus I'm guessing that at least some of them are out of stock. Guy Edited August 23, 2005 by Guy Quote
LAL Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Grabbing/grabbed a number of the Storyvilles plus Jackie McLean's Rites of Passage. Just yesterday, I made a pledge not to buy any more stuff for at least 3 months. -_- Quote
Kalo Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 I'm tempted to check this out, despite recent personal excesses. Thanks? Quote
bertrand Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 I didn't really see anything earth-shattering for me, but thanks for the tip. If you do not have Rites of Passage, grab it ASAP! This my favorite of all his records in the last 20 years. Bertrand. Quote
