Alexander Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 If this woman never gets her children back, it will be too soon... Just sick... Mom let man abuse boy for cash NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida (AP) -- A woman confronted a neighbor accused of sexually assaulting her 7-year-old son and threatened to call police, but then accepted $600 in hush money and let the man molest the boy again, authorities said. The 30-year-old woman was charged Tuesday with capital sexual battery and child abuse. The neighbor, Nicholas Quiles, 48, has been charged with capital sexual battery. Both are being held without bail. The alleged sexual assaults happened the first two weeks of February, Lt. Jeffrey Harrington said. The boy told his 11-year-old sister that Quiles did "bad things to him," the girl told detectives. An anonymous tip led investigators to the neighbor and mother. The boy, his sister and their toddler brother were removed from their home, Harrington said. There is no evidence so far that the other children were sexually abused, he said. "There are definitely oddities to this case," Harrington said. "I hope we never have to investigate anything like this again." Quote
Aggie87 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 ...as sad as the one where the father of three was murdered by his wife. Quote
Alexander Posted March 30, 2006 Author Report Posted March 30, 2006 (edited) No, this is worse. Dead is dead. Molested is the kind of thing that can keep the pain going for years and years... Moreover, this is a child betrayed by his mother. I can understand a husband or a wife betraying one another. You choose your spouse. But you can't choose your parents, and when a parent opens up his or her child to danger, that's the worst betrayal of all... Worse, this woman actually PROFITED from her child being molested. That's some "never forgive" action there. Edited March 30, 2006 by Alexander Quote
Aggie87 Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 My statement was more directed at your "Nothing funny about this" comment. It seemed to me you were ok with making fun of the other situation. Quote
Alexander Posted March 30, 2006 Author Report Posted March 30, 2006 I know. That's why I said it. That other situation DOES have some humorous aspects (mostly in the way the story has been reported), but there's nothing funny about this at all. Quote

Alexander Posted March 31, 2006 Author Report Posted March 31, 2006 (edited) Well, here's a couple of winners Siblings face child porn charges Pair baby-sat victims, Wise County sheriff says; images found 03:34 PM CST on Friday, March 24, 2006 By PAUL MEYER / The Dallas Morning News A Wise County brother and sister remained in jail Friday, accused of using baby-sitting jobs for friends to produce child pornography. Phyllis G. Riedle, 48, and her half brother, Kevin Riedle, 41, were living together in an incestuous relationship and possessed a large cache of child pornography on a computer, sheriff's officials say. "It's a sick case," Wise County Sheriff David Walker said. Detective Mike Neagle said Friday that investigators expected to get more calls from parents whose children had spent time with the Riedles. From photographs on the computer, investigators identified two local children as victims – an 18-month-old girl who had been sexually assaulted and a 7-year-old girl who was photographed nude. Ms. Riedle baby-sat both children. "We think that the brother and sister were both there at the time," Sheriff Walker said. Ms. Riedle turned herself in to police Wednesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child and was booked into the Wise County Jail. Her bail has been set at $150,000. Sheriff Walker said she confessed to investigators. Officers also found photos of a 14-year-old female relative on the computer. Mr. Riedle was arrested March 1. He faces four charges of possession and promotion of child pornography. He remains in jail, with bail set at $300,000. "Since then, the investigation has continued to grow humongous," Sheriff Walker said. It began 18 months ago when Dallas police received a tip that Mr. Riedle had child pornography on his computer, Sheriff Walker said. Mr. Riedle worked as a long-distance truck driver and carried the laptop on trips, transmitting through wireless connections at truck stops. About a month ago, Dallas police contacted their Wise County counterparts to let them know Mr. Riedle might be living in Runaway Bay, a small town on the southern shore of Lake Bridgeport. The brother and sister were living with Ms. Riedle's two children. The children are in Child Protective Services' custody, Sheriff Walker said. An analysis of the computer hard drive produced thousands of digital images of child pornography, including children engaged in sex acts with adults. "This does have pictures of what looks to be 12- to 18-month-olds all the way up to teenagers in various stages of sexual assault," Sheriff Walker said. "It is a bad, bad deal. Quite honestly, I hope I and my investigators never have to see anything like this again." There were also several hundred video clips. Investigators are continuing to look for other possible victims but say they believe most of the pictures and videos came from third parties. "The majority of images and videos we believe came through the Internet," Sheriff Walker said. The FBI, Dallas police and Tarrant and Wise counties' district attorney's offices have been helping in the investigation. "If there's anybody familiar with Kevin and Phyllis Riedle ... we want to hear from them," Sheriff Walker said. Here's a good example of foxes guarding a hen-house. When two people who look like this want to babysit your kids (no matter how reasonable their rates) YOU SAY NO! Edit: The picture didn't come up when I quoted the text, so you'll have to scroll back a couple of posts to see my point... Edited March 31, 2006 by Alexander Quote

That's some "never forgive" action there. Think about the children whose father was murdered by their mother. (how's that for being betrayed by their mother?) Even if she felt justified in murdering her husband because of *fill in the blank*, a child doesn't quite understand that nuance; their father is dead and their mother is in prison. Period. Surely you can see the pain that they will endure for "years and years". You keep referring to the dead father. How about the children? That's why we don't think it's so funny... But you're paying more attention to the silly sounding names of peripheral characters and the fact that he's a minister. Be careful, your biases are showing.... Quote
