GregN Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 technical virgin for doing the above commericial spoof... Fired! Quote
Dan Gould Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Yes, I think she should have been fired, because she was the host of a children's program. If those spoofs are running at a time when kids could see them, no parent should be expected to explain what the nice lady from their kid's favorite show is talking about. Quote
7/4 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I don't know...could have been good advice. Quote
(BB) Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 other mock PSA Maybe she can get a job on Pee Wee's Playhouse. Quote
Big Wheel Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 (edited) Yes, I think she should have been fired, because she was the host of a children's program. If those spoofs are running at a time when kids could see them, no parent should be expected to explain what the nice lady from their kid's favorite show is talking about. She did the spoofs at least 6 years before she ever appeared on the children's show. So it's ok to run the spoofs at a time when kids can watch them, just as long as they don't feature any people they'd recognize? The baby boom generation is shaping up to be history's biggest bunch of whiny neurotic crybabies. The kids will be just fine, folks. Settle the fuck down. Edited July 26, 2006 by Big Wheel Quote

Well, that was the reason why she was shit-canned, wasn't it? right back atcha, slick. Quote
Big Wheel Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I doubt the article gives us the full story about how PBS was notified. Probably what happened was that either: 1) someone tipped them off before Martinez came forward, or 2) Martinez kept quiet until the clip started circulating widely on the Internet, and figured it was smarter to proactively go to her employer about it rather than have her bosses find out on their own. Big Wheel Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I see that a well-known filthy Penthouse model has performed with Elmo. Whatever will we tell the children after they watch her True Hollywood Story? Quote
Noj Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 It sounds pretty stupid to me that she got canned. When are kids who watch her PBS children's program going to see these commercial spoofs? It's not like PBS is going to run the spot, nor any of the other networks running children's programs. Kids are as likely to see these spoofs as they are to catch some soft porn on Skinemax. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I have to agree with Big Wheel on this one. How would a small child find out about some spoof video she did six years ago? I felt the same way about Paul Reubens. I mean, he got caught masturbating in public during a porn movie. Who hasn't??! I mean.... um... Quote
