Uncle Skid Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Yeah. Call in a singing hooker... Just make sure she's not married first! Quote
Joe G Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 You can look up Arno Marsh afterwards. He'll hang 'till the sun comes up. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Duke Ellington has a boulevard there so maybe you can find him playing on the street. Quote

Dmitry Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Yeah. Call in a singing hooker... Just make sure she's not married first! Thank you for your concern, Mr. Skid. I have already suggested to Mark to invite Patricia with him as a hymen chaperone. Quote
Uncle Skid Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Poor Mark -- asks a simple question about jazz in Vegas, and this is what he gets. We should be ashamed of ourselves... Nah, just kidding! Quote
sheldonm Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 I'm sure this is just your way of showing affection.........I think??? m~ Quote
Dmitry Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Well, if a bone playin' hooker is going to be tough to come by here's another tip for you - Big B's CD's & Records 4761 South Maryland Parkway Las Vegas, NV 89119 (702) 732-4433 Not a bad selesction of used cds at competitive prices. Don't neglect to look inside the display case at the cash register. When I was there they had one or two Mosaics and the "Complete Billie Holiday on Verve" box for about $60 [i snagged that one]. If there is one place a bone playin' hooker is probably not hard to find, it's Vegas. Thanks for the tip on Big B's, I'll try to check it out! m! Quote
BeBop Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Sorry my answer wasn't in keeping with the general levity of this thread. But the link I provided is useful. Quote
Aggie87 Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I had very good luck last year at Big B's too. And there's a "Record City" at 300 E. Sahara that had a pretty good selection of used discs & vinyl. There are other Record City locations around town, but that one seemed to have the best inventory at the time. There wasn't any live jazz during the week I was there, that I could find. Quote

Bebop, No problem with your post, very useful indeed. To keep with the levity of the thread, you would need to post something on hookers! . m~ Quote
BeBop Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Here I must apologise. My understanding of American/Western culture is not so good. I'm not sure I could think of anything inappropriate to say. I think prostitution is one of those things very local/specific. I'll save my doomed attempts at levity for another thread. Not "Funny Rat", though. Quote
