jeffcrom Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I love Trumbauer We may have had a thread on this before, but does anybody still play the C Melody Sax? gregmo Braxton and Scott Robinson, that I know of. Quote
AllenLowe Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 on my upcoming CD I play one cut on C melody. It's a strange instrument, doesn't cut through the rhythm section, so it's easy to over-blow. But I like it. Quote

That's a pity because then you won't have the Wolverine recordings, The Victor session with 'I'll be a friend with "pleasure"', Not Goldkette's 'Clementine' (available at the Red Hot Jazz Archive http://www.redhotjazz.com/goldo.html and scroll down recordings are in alphabetical order) or any of the Paul Whiteman recordings. You don't need them all but I wouldn't like to miss 'Lonley Melody'. Also available at the Red Hot Jazz Archive http://www.redhotjazz.com/pwo.html Don't get fooled by the sound quality there. If you decide you wan't it all after all the there is Bix Restored vol. 1 to 5 (13 CD's in all) Quote
