AllenLowe Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 thanks to all who have ordered stuff from me recently - everything will have gone out by the end of this week and I apologize for general slowness, as I've been back in the studio recording and mixing (not to mention the old 9-5 gig) - the company's still sending me a few review copies of Devilin Tune that I can sell at discount - not much left - however, there is one of Volume 1 and there are two of Volume 2 that I can offer at the un-sealed price of $35 shipped media mail - email me at alowe@maine.rr.com, which is also my paypal address - Quote
brownie Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 I'll plug in on those sets. Thought volume 1 was excellent, bringing a new perspective to the beginnings of the music. It included lots of wonderful music. Volume 2 is even better. Selection of the various sides that are included is even tighter. This is quite an enterprise and should be purchased by all those interested in jazz! Quote
Dmitry Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Volume 2 is even better. Selection of the various sides that are included is even tighter. Agreed. Although the inclusion of Stevie Wonder's I Just Called To Say I Love You was a bit of a surprise, albeit a pleasant one. I never realized Bix did a trumpet solo on that one. Quote

The only stereo track in the set. Quote
Hot Ptah Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Volume 2 is even better. Selection of the various sides that are included is even tighter. Agreed. Although the inclusion of Stevie Wonder's I Just Called To Say I Love You was a bit of a surprise, albeit a pleasant one. I never realized Bix did a trumpet solo on that one. The only stereo track in the set. Except for the version of the Captain and Tennile's "Love Will Keep Us Together", with the solos by Henry "Red" Allen and Chu Berry. They take the song to another level entirely! Quote
