I don't like opening the Mosaic boxes, especially the old designs, because they get damaged so easily, so I store the Lps outside the boxes. I have been able to buy some Mosaic-sized boxes and I put the Lps and the books in them. Will post photos if you want.

What?? You mean, you don't store them in a deep freeze in a temperature and air pressure controlled room, to be checked and handled only once a year with sterile masks and gloves? And of course, there are never to be taken anywhere near a turntable!!! :);) Just kidding, but it's funny how we give our Mosaics much better treatment than our other recordings, even our other box sets. Something about those Mosaics!

I would not think of storing the vinyls away from the original boxes!

I try to be as careful as possible when removing the LPs. Some of the boxes covers show very slight damage but that's the way I received them!

I do the same. Boxes stored vertically (slightly away from wall to give air circulation) and with LPs, booklets, invoices etc. kept within the boxes. I'm super-careful when opening up the boxes but not quite at the white glove stage yet.

When 'cracking open' a set I try to give the LPs one treatment on the VPI, if they haven't already been cleaned. Even new sets benefit from this.

I never even noticed that Mosaic boxes were easily damaged. I keep all the CDs/LPs and booklets in the original Mosaic boxes, stored vertically on a book shelf.
