Can anyone speak to the sound quality of these reissues? How good is the remastering?

Great. Very clear and transparent, yet a bit more aggressive than the earlier, also great but mellower Japanese 20-bit K2 remastered Victor Impulse! reissues.

I have a handful of these and LOVE them. I think they are among the very best of the cd reissues that I have sound wise and packaging wise. I like the earlier K2 Impulses, but these just sing with a real naturalness on my system.

I got quite a few from Rd Trumpet at unbelievable prices, and there continues to be some available there for sale. . . .

I have a couple of the Victor K2's (MVCJ series). I think these sound wonderful, and mellow, yes. A Love Supreme is almost TOO mellow at times, when compared to my original experience with the recording!

Does anyone have the Shirley Scott reissues?  I've got older copies of Latin Shadows (1998) and On a Clear Day (1991) and may want to upgrade at some time if worth it, especially Latin Shadows... love that record!

I haven't heard the Scott CDs, but I'm convinced the 24-bit remastered Japanese mini-LP sleeve reissues (many CDs in this series have fold-out sleeves) sound much, much better than their U.S. counterparts.

Red Trumpet has them, but they're pretty expensive. They're also listed on the HMV Japan site: Latin Shadows and On a Clear Day, so they're still available. Why don't you ask Hiroshi Tanno if he can supply them: hiroshi@earlyrecords.com - his prices are slightly higher than HMV's (2345 yen or approximately $20, plus shipping), but his shipping rates are much lower.
