Soul Stream Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 If you haven't heard this CD...drop everything and get it. I've loved it since it first came out...pulled it out tonight and remembered how incredible this session was. Jimmy Smith live in the 80's w/Eddie Harris and no guitar player. It really exposes Jimmy's genius. Maybe at the peak of his powers in many ways. What a great CD... Quote
CJ Shearn Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) ahh yes with the radio calls being picked up by the Varitone you are right, I gotta go pull it out. Edited May 28, 2007 by CJ Shearn Quote
CJ Shearn Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Jimmy really burns on "Autumn Leaves" with some killer basslines too. Quote
Soul Stream Posted June 2, 2007 Author Report Posted June 2, 2007 Jimmy really burns on "Autumn Leaves" with some killer basslines too. Yeah....without a guitar player, you really get to hear everything Jimmy's doing. And he's doing A LOT! Quote
