md655321 Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Might have to make the trip out to Baltimore. No New York or Philly show? Thats a small venue in Detroit (4000ish.) The man could easily sell out Ford Field (60,000?) for a week straight. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Have not called in for tix in years... used to sleep out all night back in the day, but- Phoned the Maine TicketMaster # (figured them bumpkins are too busy snowmobiling on the lake or lining up for yet another allenlowe gig to be bothered) this morn for the Boston date and got an order in at 10:01. By the time I was giving the info the service rep told me it was sold out. I even got great seats!!! phewww, that anniversary gift is out of the way! A BIG THANK YEEWWW CHEW! Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Anyone get into the Chicago concert? Looking forward to hearing him tonight in Detroit. LV Quote
Tom Storer Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 No European leg of this tour, alas. If you do bittorrent, hurry over to Dimeadozen where there's currently an audience recording of his California show from Sept. 4. I've just listened to a little bit so far, but it sounded great! Here's the set list to give an idea of the show. Lots of greatest hits, he has so many... cd1- 70:00 01. Stevie Welcome 02. Love's in Need of Love Today 03. Too High 04. Visions 05. Living for the City 06. Master Blaster (Jammin') 07. Higher Ground 08. Golden Lady 09. Ribbon in the Sky 10. Overyjoyed cd2- 68:38 01. Don't You Worry 'bout A Thing 02. Signed Sealed Delivered (I'm Yours) 03. Memphis (Chuck Berry) 04. Boogie On Reggae Woman 05. story about a girl... 06. My Cherie Amour 07. Sir Duke 08. I Wish 09. Isn't She Lovely 10. You Are the Sunshine of My Life 11. Superstition > You Haven't Done Nothin' > jam > 12. band introductions > jam > 13. I Just Called to Say I Love You 14. Another Star Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Very similiar set list to last night's concert. His voice is in great shape. Hearing him "at home" was incredible as family and friends showed up in droves to hear him. Quote
Aggie87 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Not a bad setlist, except for "I Just Called to say I Love You". That song is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me, still! Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 That's a great set list. Two hours plus is how it should be. Thought I'd post again a shot I made from the last time I saw him. Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 The set list in Detroit went deep. "My Cherie Amour." About the only thing he didn't sing was "Uptight." Quote
