Hardbopjazz Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Does anyone know anything about this recording? Has it ever been issued? I would say it has, since it is Charlie Parker. I've searched for it, being a collector of anything I can find of Parker; but I have never come across this. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Well, it appears to have been a Spotlite lp: Charlie Parker Quintet Miles Davis (tp) Charlie Parker (as) Joe Albany (p) Addison Farmer (b) Chuck Thompson (d) "Finale Club", Los Angeles, CA, early March, 1946 Blue 'N' Boogie Spotlite [E] SPJ 123 Anthropology - Billie's Bounce - Ornithology - All The Things You Are - * Charlie Parker - Yardbird In Lotus Land (Spotlite [E] SPJ 123) No cd issue is popping into my noggin, but odds are it has been out somewhere, Masters of Jazz, or Black Label or. . . ? medjuck Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 It's also on YOUNG BIRD V. 5, 1945-46 (which contains the two sides with the Nat King Cole trio as well). Anyone know where one can find a copy of "Young Bird Vol 5"? Quote
EKE BBB Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Joe: I'm afraid at this moment there's no trace of this disc at amazon.fr or parisjazzcorner, which are the most reliable sources for Masters of Jazz CDs. But you can check there from time to time, as it may appear. Good luck! (so far I only have volumes 1&2 from those Young Bird series on MoJ) Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 i bought this on some sketchy ass sktechball lp label for 35 bucks, then 2 wks later that got another copy in on a DIFFERENt sktechy label, that one was only 6, and they were both mint-- so im kind of mad at charlie parker at the finale club right now Quote
