The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 See? As soon as Ahmet Ertegun died, the company went to pot. MG Quote
MoGrubb Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 .... Edgar Bronfman Jr., chief executive of Warner Music Group Corp., received a compensation package in fiscal 2007 valued at $3.4 million, according to an analysis of documents filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. ....... The executive, who has headed the company since 2004, declined to receive a cash bonus for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, opting instead for the money to go toward other non-executive employees' bonuses, the company said. This sounds like he did the right thing. Quote
JSngry Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Can somebody say Angelo Mozillo? :w :w Quote
T.D. Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I always got the impression that Edgar Bronfman jr. is a moron who basically ran the family's financial empire (Seagrams money) into the ground. There's a book on the Bronfmans, which I've considered reading but passed on because I don't really feel like researching Junior. So I applaud Junior for seemingly doing the right thing compensation-wise this year, but I think the company's in practically the worst conceivable hands... Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs. There is also a negative side." - Hunter S. Thompson Quote

GA Russell Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 MG, do you get the Doonesbury comic strip in England? There is a character called Uncle Duke who is based on Thompson. Thompson's alter ego in his books was Raoul Duke. Quote
