As long as we're talking about it, is anyone else kinda put out by the extra track on the Keepnews issue? I hate to use the term "bottom of the barrel," but why hasn't this been available previously? Whatta crock!

I've got both. I like both. Can't go wrong with either. If you've got one you really don't need the other.

I have an SACD copy that sounds terrific. I also have it on the Monk Riverside box set.

Just played this a couple of days ago-K2 sounds great to these ears.

Just wondering: are those K2's still around? I thought Concord dispensed with those pretty quickly.

I have a black-label Riverside stereo in VG++ condition and will have to settle for that... sounds good though!

IMHO, the SACD is a disappointment, like most of the Fantasy SACDs. The mastering in the Sonny Rollins "Freelance Years" box is better.

I bought the Keepnews edition and note that the sound is a bit more focused than the domestic K2 but perhaps drier - so can't decide, but probably prefer the K2.

So Lon... you are not alone in the sicko department.

Yes the only bonus track is Pannonica incomplete.
