domo1129 Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Just hoping to find this Uptown LP 27.11 Philly Joe Jones & Dameronia - To Tadd With Love. I remember it had Johnny Coles. Did it come out on CD? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Quote
JohnS Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Hope you find this. I had the album briefly when it first came out. I know some people like it but it never got to me I'm sorry to say. I found it a very lacklustre affair. Quote
Tom in RI Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 It appears that Stephan Wood has this title available as an lp for $7. Quote
John Tapscott Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Hope you find this. I had the album briefly when it first came out. I know some people like it but it never got to me I'm sorry to say. I found it a very lacklustre affair. I agree with John on this, but I would say that the second Uptown LP "Look, Stop and Listen" is much better. I still have it it my collection, though I sold "To Tadd With Love." The mention of Johnny Coles gives me a chance to mention one of my favorite Uptown recordings - Johnny Coles & Frank Wess - "Two At the Top", recorded around this same time period. Quote

Got all 3 of them somewhere in the racks. Agree that the 'Look, Stop and Listen' is the better of the Dameronia albums. About time I dug them out again. Quote

Brad Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I have the CD as a burn. It's been a couple of years since I listened but a lackluster affair is not what comes to mind. Quote
