Bill Barron - Swedish Recordings

I alway found Bill Barron to be a vern interesting player. Dragon has just released some recordings of him made in Sweden over the years. Has anyone heard them? Are they any good? Many thanks.

I've not yet heard this particular collection, but I've never heard any Barron that was less than interesting, and usually they're more than just that.

Sure would be nice to see Dusty start carrying labels like Dragon, Heptagon and Phontastic. They have maybe a dozen Dragons listed, most of which are out of stock, but maybe that's a start.

That compilation was actually released a couple of years ago. A few familiar Barron tunes and the playing throughout is very good.

Bill Barron (Kennys older brother) was such a nice person, got to know him well when he had a 3 week gig at "Jazzhus Montmartre" with Teddy Curson and Dick Berk, can't remember the name of the bassplayer.
