Edit: Not what you were looking for, but FWIW, I just found an extra copy of Patton's "Accent on the Blues" in my pile of duplicates. (The other half of the 'bonus' date from "Memphis to New York Spirit" is on "Accent on the Blues".)

I believe that this LP was only reissued on CD in Japan. I think the CD is out of print, judging from the asking price of this Amazon seller:

I recently acquired Accent on the Blues (on this board in fact) and enjoyed it a lot so am very keen to hear Memphis to New York Spirit too.

I was under the impression that it had also been released in the US but perhaps not.

It is difficult to judge prices based on the amazon market place prices as it isn't always clear that anyone has actually paid those prices. I don't think that there is the equivalent of the completed items search on ebay.

For example I was recently looking for this Steve Lacy cd and you can get it new from Silkheart for 10 pounds!!

Of course the cds I've listed above are OOP so I'd expect to pay a bit of a premium. I just don't think that anyone will pay $150 for a copy of Natural Essence that has scratches on the disc!

I agree, I'm not sure anyone would pay that price either.

Natural Essence was only issued on cd from Japan, I'm afraid. Maybe one day we'll be able to download a version from the US arm of EMI.

I sure wasn't suggesting anyone pay $55 for a scratchy import copy of an oop CD.

Again, prices do reflect rarity and demand at times, though poor condition should cause prices to be much lower.

Stan Getz: Dynasty goes for $85 or so, but it looks like this 2 CD set is scheduled for reissue in February 2009.

I was trying to highlight the issues with trying to guess how much things are worth based on amazon marketplace prices.

Yeah, if you see a copy at a decent price, get it get it get it. This is one of Big John's biggest badazz records, with Understanding being number one for me. D caven: I saw a copy at a store near me for five bucks (promo sticker on it and scratches) but if you want it, I'll check back to see if its there. The price if $5 + shiipping.
