They just didn't always report the ballplayers' full names: Babe Ruth Brown Dizzy Gillespie Dean Pete Candoli Fountain Rose Ted Joe Williams The list goes on... And of course, Wilt Chamberlain, who not only became owner of Small's, used to go to Birdland. The old days.
