The fires are back!

I live in beautiful but fire prone Santa Barbara. The mandatory evacuation area ends across the street from me so it will probably soon be here. I'm packed and ready to go but didn't even try to decide which cds to take. I knew I should have transferred them al to a hard disc but who's got time). If the house goes up I may soon be begging for cdrs of hard to find cds I've lost.

(Does loss in a fire allow some bending of the board rules?)

I have friends on Ben Lomond Drive and have been unable to contact them - is that near you? I hope you get out of it okay and intact, Medjuck.

Not near me. In the first area to be evacuated and first area burnt.. We have a couple of friends with us who were living in that part of town. They just found out that there house is ok. Hope that's true for your friends. (If we have to leave they'll just come with us.)

Crazy. You just had a big one 6 months ago!

Just the fact that they have streets blocked off from State St is pretty scary. Not to mention San Marcos Pass appears to be closed, too.

I'd hate to see the Botanical Gardens go and they're right in the middle of it. I saw that they lost a building already.
