Noj Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 yo ralphie_boy! Would you recommend Blackstone Legacy? I've been eyeing it... I've been listening to "Legends Of Acid Jazz" discs for Gene Ammons, Houston Person, and Sonny Stitt. Quote

AfricaBrass Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Thanks AfricaBrass. Emusic, I'm PILLAGING those guys. :rsmile: You're welcome! I've been doing the same thing with emusic. I have hundreds of cds of mp3 albums that I've downloaded. The problem is: I don't have all the cds labeled, so I don't know what's on them. OOOF!!! Quote
Noj Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Thanks AfricaBrass. Emusic, I'm PILLAGING those guys. :rsmile: You're welcome! I've been doing the same thing with emusic. I have hundreds of cds of mp3 albums that I've downloaded. The problem is: I don't have all the cds labeled, so I don't know what's on them. OOOF!!! I've been tediously labelling each track to help that problem. Did you check out the Kool & The Gang album they have? Now that is some FUNK! Lee Fields is funky too, even though he is a James Brown clone... Quote
AfricaBrass Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Noj, I haven't heard the Kool and the Gang they have. Time to do some downloading. Bring on da' funk! Thanks! :rsmile: Quote
ghost of miles Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Cab Calloway, THE EARLY YEARS (JSP) (great stuff, hope they do a mid/late 30's set too) Brew Moore, QUINTET (man, he's quite the Lester acolyte, isn't he?) Freddie Hubbard, BLACK ANGEL (I don't know why, but I enjoy Hubbard's late 60's/early 70's hardbop/fusion sound best in mid-afternoon as I'm getting ready to go to work. Don't care for it most of the rest of the time.) Quote
