Just happened to notice that I passed the 5000 post mark and I find it kind of hard to believe it took me that long. I haven't had much to contribute the past couple years, but I still enjoy browsing the threads. Thanks again to Jim for creating the board and letting me hang around this long. :)

trying to hit 10,000, but I think it's who-you-know around here. Alfredson's always playing favorites. Send him some chocolate chip cookies and he automatically ups your post numbers by about 800.

That's why JSngry is rolling in cookie dough -

and Ron S hasn't posted since 1988 - look at HIS numbers.

geez, I'm tired of greasing palms.

Now that you're back to being a working man, the next 5000 may take even longer - but that's a good thing.

Dear God in heaven, the Organissimo Jazz Board has been around for six years? Holy 'time-sure-goes-by-fast' Batman!

It's rumored that with 25,000 posts your car gets a new transmission.

If you've got 25,000 posts, your car probably hasn't been out of the garage in years.

with apologies to JSngry ...

I'll repair a whole lot of shit to keep a car rolling, but a transmission ain't one of 'em.

A friend and I once changed out a transmission in a 1970 Cadillac Coupe.

Luckily the crazy German I was working for let us do this in the shop with the crane, torches, etc.

Biggest job I ever took on and I was very pround when we had finished. Sore and grimiest I've ever been too. I'll never do it again, BUT I'm glad I did it.

When I was in college, I changed a blown head gasket once on a late 70s Chevy Malibu. Took me about a week pulling that thing apart and putting it back together again. Problem was, I didn't realize I needed a specific kind of torque wrench to refasten the manifold. As soon as I started that sucker up again, the gasket blew.

... had it towed to a garage and haven't worked on a car since.

...But at least you've got over five thousand posts.

Nah, your spouse leaves you for a carnival clown

That was 15,000. ;)

But doesn't she return on the 20,000th? :D
