this particular one, unlike some, is not VANGELDER stampers--- how is the quality of this disc. you know, navy blue label with big chunky lowercase "b"....

That's the LP version I have. Nothing wrong with the sound but I never compared it with an original one!

I have a NY USA DG one side with ear original version, also a Japanese King and a UK late-1970s (Transatlantic/UA?) blue label pressing. My thoughts are that the original comes out best (full bodied, if that makes sense) but will have to check that old UK pressing. I don't think that one had 'Van Gelder' in the runout though.

There was a period when the BN LPs - I want to say late 70s early 80s - had the 70s logo design but it was a little glossier and the blue was a little lighter. :Some of these pressings sound really good. The 70s pressings were dodgy, as they were with most labels.
