sjarrell Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Dang. Late! I'm noticing that some of the material's on the '43/44 and '44 Chronological Classics. Does anyone know if the rest was omitted for a reason? Different leaders, maybe? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Sessions lead by Cozy Cole, Charlie Shavers and George Wettling. The set also includes lots of alternates. Quote

Brad Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Snap up the second set folks. It's great. Maybe someday somebody will issue all the Keynotes in CD. Quote
Brute Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I agree, this set is fantastic. I have been hoping for years that Mosaic would reissue the Keynote collection. There is an amazing wealth of great music there that's dying to see the light of day. I managed to find the LP set issued by Mercury through the library system but I'd pay top dollar to have the entire collection remastered on CD. I'm sure I'm not alone here. Quote

Yes folks - don't forget, you'd also get the first record on an indie label to make the R&B charts - "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition" by the Royal Harmony Quartet. You KNOW you want that one, don't you? MG Quote
