from that Baltimore club, the famous door, or i dont remember but its that series we always are talking about, you know, with all the tapes? well i saw this new looking cd today w/ definetly a new cover art (some hot chick on a couch) and the bonus cuts were from 1971 w/ the same rhythm section (walton/simpkins/higgins) + cliff jordan on the bonus-- wanted to see if you guys are aware of this one//

The CD reissues three tracks (dating back to the '70s) from a Label M release plus the full Discovery 1988 (not 1971) studio session that came out also as 'Cedar Walton Plays the Music of Billy Strayhorn'.

The three tracks from Baltimore were the bonus material, not the other way around!

Thanks for the explanation, Brownie. I saw this one listed on Amazon just a couple of days ago and was thrown off by the presence of Higgins and the fact that AMG doesn't list a "Strayhorn" release on any label - except for this release. If this is one of them Andorran outfits, I wonder if 1988 is the most recent recording they've claimed as "fair game".

Doesn't seem to be from any of these Andorran labels - Absolute Distribution doesn't list it.

Actually the label is listed, but only one disc comes up as available, and its not this one.

I have a feeling that it's Andorran, I got it from Jazzmessengers in Barcelona, it's their retail outlet, great shop with very good service, and sorry to say I buy a lot from them, they have so much you can't get elsewhere.
