I guess if it has been around 35 years it can stay around for another day or two till you order it up. ;)

Seriously, it's a rewarding one as these things go, if maybe not a beast, so I say go for it. Surprised you don't have it already... ahem

Edited to add...that the LP has more character -

I was standing at the counter at the Jazz Record Mart

when the artwork for that LP arrived. I'm guessing it was for Bob's approval?

I happened to be right there when a woman who had come in with Braxton

was trying to return it to it's carrying bag.

I caught the long edge of it as it slid over the top of the bag

keeping it from crashing to the floor of the store.

Don't remember there being text on it at the time.

I remember being pleasantly surprised when it showed up later as a new release.

But the tapes were sent from France - was Anthony really there when the artwork arrived? The record was issued in 1974, so maybe. At my age, with so many memories, timelines wander.

Anyway, while working on the reissue, I wanted the original cover but was ignored. Same with Three Compositions. I recently told the folks at Delmark I wanted another crack at remastering that disc and using the original art was a condition.

Hegewisch Records, Jazz Record Mart, and Rose Records were my hangouts during those days

and it becomes a kind of good time blur thinking back, but I'd say it was sometime before mid-January '74 -

it feels like it was at least a year earlier than that to me.

Maybe knowing his overseas timeline might help me pin it down - or maybe he was back for a short visit - I don't know...

I remember asking him (not knowing at the time that he had been gone)

whether he still had his dog. I remember his occasional barefoot presence at

Rose Records with his German Shepherd(?), so it gave me an extra subject

(other than his music) to talk to him about. Subsequent meetings were less nervous events

because I found that he was extremely easy to talk with.

The last time I saw him, I gave him a composition of mine and he stated

that he had a substantial library of music scores where it would find a good home.

Thanks.

I do remember the original tapes were in some format exclusive to Europe (I was told) and the tapes I worked with, for the cd reissue, were translations made back in the '70s. Not sure what the problem was.
