Rooster_Ties Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 (edited) Reminds me of... YUM!!!!!!!!!! Only trouble is that (supposedly) they're a "limited edition" flavor. (Guess I'll have to stock up on enough to last a lifetime!!!! ) Edited December 7, 2003 by Rooster_Ties Quote
Jazz Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Only trouble is that (supposedly) they're a "limited edition" flavor. NOOOOOO! Must....hurry.......to store...... Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 7, 2003 Author Report Posted December 7, 2003 FYI, I haven't seen these at any regular store. The only place I've seen them is... Then again, I haven't been looking for them either. Might be other places, though I'm sure they weren't at our regular grocery story when we were there earlier this weekend. Are you out in California, Jazz??? There's a ton of World Markets out there. Or even if you aren't in CA, you can go to the World Market "findstorelocation" page to, well, find the store nearest you!!! (World Market specializes in import 'stuff' from around the world, and it's entirely possible that Ginger Altoids are only available over in the U.K. - and that only a weird place that handles imports into the U.S. - would have something like this. FWIW, I couldn't even find any mention of Ginger Altoids on the offical Altoids site.) Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 7, 2003 Author Report Posted December 7, 2003 First hit on "Ginger Altoids" from Google... Sunday, January 26, 2003 Whither ginger? Had correspondents on the search for Ginger Altoids all day yesterday, with absolutely no success. Am beginning to wonder whether this is all an elaborately constructed hoax, but no: I certainly held a tin in my hands on Friday, and even sampled a mint. Suggestions were helpfully offered but sadly misleading… We struck out at Trader Joe’s, where some on the web had reported success, and an enthusiastic tip that the Mercer Larry’s had them as of 4 p.m. on Saturday seems to have been in error (Eggy: “The lady there looked at me as if she had never heard of them” — like Keyser Soze, gone without a trace). Have a few more yuppie market prospects to check out before I’ll be willing to concede defeat; alternately, if anyone has a lead on where they might be ordered online, that just might do as well. At this point, any word merely corroborating their existence would be a comfort! Don't know what to think. Are these still in production?? Are they 'left-overs' from some prior promotion dating back earlier in the year?? I'll see if I can do some more digging, and I'll let you know what I find... Quote
jacman Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 i've been getting them at Trader Joe's for quite some time. they're de-lish. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 7, 2003 Author Report Posted December 7, 2003 There's bunch on eBay, so at least there's the perception that these are kinda rare, or maybe difficult to get in some areas. The display-case that they were in at the store I got them from, said they were "limited edition". eBay listings... Quote
Jazz Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Man, would people really hoax altoids? They must be bored! I have a Trader Joe's in my area. I think I'll check it out there next time I go. I checked my local listings for World Market and didn't find anything. How do you get into all this hip stuff!? Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 7, 2003 Author Report Posted December 7, 2003 Found another image, better than the first one I posted... Quote
Jazz Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 The comment "Naturally flavored with other natural flavor sweets" barely manges to make any sense. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 I used to work with a woman named Ginger. We called her the Poopsmith. Nobody liked her much. I love Altoids, but I think I'll skip these. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 7, 2003 Author Report Posted December 7, 2003 By the way, I should mention that I only found these just tonight, for the very first time. And they are SERIOUSLY good!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
