I have more than 30 Cal Tjader albums, and much as I love all of them, I keep coming back to "Soul Burst." I love the combination of Corea's chord voicings, Cal's vibes, and the Latin percussion.

This is the only album they did together that I have. I'm guessing it may be the only one, period. I wish they had done more.

Five of the tracks were  included on the numerous Tjader CD compilations Verve released over the years ... some on CalTjader - Talkin' Verve - Roots of Acid Jazz and some as bonus tracks to el sonido nuevo with Eddie Palmieri.

Thanks. I think the only Cal CDs I have are reissues of straight albums or twofers. Most Cal Tjader I have is on LP. No idea where I (mis)filed "Along Comes Cal." Still hoping it's in a DJ crate.

Mike, what do you think of the Chick/Cal combination on "Soul Burst?"
