Tom in RI Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 One of my friends had the 6 Parker Spotlight records documenting his Dial output when I was just getting into jazz. We listened to them a lot. As I recall, a nice production with decent notes. I bought the Warner Bros box set of same when it came out and I still have it. I have to say I remember liking the notes on the Spotlight set better. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 No masters exist for the Dial material. All reissues are dubs of 78s. Quote

DukeCity Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 No masters exist for the Dial material. All reissues are dubs of 78s. Well, that's what we always thought. But recently there was this guy digging through some boxes at a yard sale... Quote
J.A.W. Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Why don't you ask the owner of Spotlite, Tony Williams, which sources he used: Spotlite website, e-mail address: tonywilliams@spotlitejazz.co.uk Quote
