Death of the Dodo

The BBC Worldwide Service have a great 10 minute program they do daily at 750 am EST called "Witness," which is a look back at certain events whose anniversary falls on the date in question.

Today, they did a very interesting program on the Dodo Bird and how it became extinct (60 years after coming in contact with our species).

Cool program. It might be to quick to blame the humans and the Dutch for this though. The cause for the extinction seems to have been the nasty animals that had sneaked onto their boat before leaving for Mauritius.
