I love how they put Cliff Lee out in front of Halliday in that photo.

Seriously, what were they thinking? Doc won the Cy Young award, threw a perfect game, and threw a no hitter in the playoffs. So SI decides that Cliff Lee gets the front and center spot?

My only consolation is that the Yankees are in the upper right.

Is it any better for me that they actually pick the Sox to win 100 games and the World Series? Forget the cover jinx, when is the last time they accurately picked the World Series champion in March? And its only getting more treacherous when practically every writer at the NBC Sports baseball blog has the Sox beating the Yankees in the ALCS, and only a tiny minority not picking them to win the Series, too. I'm afraid to look much closer at any other media outlet.

I don't think I can deal with the pressure of these kind of expectations.

Hey, try dealing with the pressure of hoping that your team really does have the character they showed last year and that said character manifests itself in a pitching staff that right now looks like "Spahn, Sain, and pray for rain" without either Spahn or Sain...
