mjzee Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Saw this posted today at eMusic. The cover tries to make it seem like an official WDR release. Thoughts? The same company also posted Bud Powell, 1960 Essen, Grugahalle. Quote
JSngry Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Not legit. JazzLine is a grey-market label. This gig has been out there for a while in collector's circles. It's from the tour w/Miles, a date where Miles didn't make the gig. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I've always been amazed Brownie never comments on stolen photos. Quote
jeffcrom Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 This concert was issued, I assume legitimately, on the Coltrane Jazz Icons DVD. Quote
brownie Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I've always been amazed Brownie never comments on stolen photos. I'm amazed you failed to note the various mentions I made on this board over the mistakes in attributions of photos! By the way, I am not really an expert on the matter but I know enough of the law over here (in France at least and most probably the EU) that the copyrights of photos remain with the photographer for 70 years after his/her death. Not 50 years as is the case for recorded music. Dimitry asked Is this a Francis Wolff photo? Yes photo by Wolff at Paul Chambers' 'Whims of Chambers' session... from the Mosaic website? Quote
