BeBop Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Looks like a useful reference for those who indulge. From the proprietor of New York's Jazz Record Center. ...striking fear into the hearts wallets of jazz lovers since 1983. Edited January 6, 2011 by BeBop Quote

Betcha this ends up costing you more than $50! I came out almost unscaved. Plunked down $13 for the Steve Hoffman-mastered sacd of Sonny Clark's trio w/Duvivier & Roach, which, I bet, sounds better than my old Time/Bainbridge cd. I did peruse the BN book, and it is very good, explicit, with many label photos in color, cover comparisons, all kinds of pressing variations, even the photos of various dies RVG used to stamp the dead wax. I didn't spend a lot of time browsing the book, but I think it goes up to the Liberty period. I ended up not buying it, but $45 will definitely make sense for the collectors. I'll probably pick up a copy later. By the way, I haven't been to the JRC for about 4 years; is it me, or does the proprietor now has 10x more cds in stock than he used to, and way fewer LPs? Quote
sidewinder Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) According to the 'Jazz Collector' site there have been problems at the JRC on-line site for people ordering online from overseas but Fred Cohen has posted on there that it looks as if this glitch will be sorted out early next week. I came out almost unscaved. Plunked down $13 An incredible feat of resistance ! Edited January 7, 2011 by sidewinder Quote
