Ted O'Reilly Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 I don't expect the Europeans to get this one. Jackie Vernon. Funny guy, but best known as the voice of Frosty The Snowman on the TV Christmas show. (Narrator was Jimmy Durante, who was a topic a few days back). Quote
GA Russell Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 Correct, Ted! "Hello, fun seekers!" Jackie Vernon was one of my favorites on the Ed Sullivan Show. I saw him in Las Vegas in the mid-80s. I didn't know that about Frosty the Snowman, which I've never seen. Quote
Ted O'Reilly Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 I think I hurt myself. Ah, you heard his cornet playing, did you? Quote

GA Russell Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 Correct, Valerie, it's Alice Kramden! I didn't know until reading the website where I found the photo that she was a singer who recorded with her sister Jayne. The pianist on her record of Aurelee, Joe Reisman, became an exec with RCA and played it for Elvis. Elvis liked it and recorded it as Love Me Tender, his first hit. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=1550 Quote
GA Russell Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 We'll see if anyone can guess before Valerie on this one! Quote
