Tom 1960 Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) NFL On NBC Anyone else remember this? From the early 70's. I remember this being such a killer intro to there sports programming back in the day. Dig the sax solo! Edited September 26, 2011 by Tom 1960 Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Didn't have a tv back then. All my money went for recordings. Quote
GA Russell Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks for that, Tom! I don't remember that, but it reminds me vaguely of the music of the 70s private eye shows. Quote
Free For All Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) Wow! I totally remember that! Sounds like something Pat Williams might have written. It's interesting to hear this again. I was 15 in 1973, but I remember noticing many specific details about this music although I didn't know much about harmony or theory back then. I just remember liking some of the voicings and some of the little interesting harmonic things w/o understanding what they were. Sure, there's not a whole lot going on other than "football music", but I remember the beginnings of what would evolve into a lifelong obsession with music. Actually, I think it would have been a blast to write things like this back then! Edited September 26, 2011 by Free For All Quote
