Any thoughts on this date? I realise there might be better recordings from this ensemble, but I'm still curious about this one. I love Ralph Moore!

Easily and highly recommended, Tom. Simple Pleasure gives mucho pleasure. I especially love the first track, In the Kitchen. A simple blues but Cedar and Ralph play the hell out of it. Dear Ruth was written for Cedar's mom and is lovely. I really enjoyed this band's records and I'm glad I got to see them twice.

I wish this band - which I saw live at least twice - was still around. This is a timeless album, as are their other two on MusicMasters.

Second that. I think I saw the band with Moore just the once but it was the earlier Berg/Walton/Williams/Higgins lineup that was the standout for me in terms of seeing them live. Those Timeless LPs are superb.
