Tom 1960 Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Any thoughts on this date? I realise there might be better recordings from this ensemble, but I'm still curious about this one. I love Ralph Moore! Quote
Dan Gould Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Any thoughts on this date? I realise there might be better recordings from this ensemble, but I'm still curious about this one. I love Ralph Moore! Easily and highly recommended, Tom. Simple Pleasure gives mucho pleasure. I especially love the first track, In the Kitchen. A simple blues but Cedar and Ralph play the hell out of it. Dear Ruth was written for Cedar's mom and is lovely. I really enjoyed this band's records and I'm glad I got to see them twice. Quote
Peter Friedman Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 If you like this group, you can't go wrong with this. CD. Cedar is terrific as usual, and rest the of the group Is in good form too. Quote
mikeweil Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 I wish this band - which I saw live at least twice - was still around. This is a timeless album, as are their other two on MusicMasters. Quote

I think I saw the band with Moore just the once but it was the earlier Berg/Walton/Williams/Higgins lineup that was the standout for me in terms of seeing them live. Those Timeless LPs are superb.
