Jazztropic Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Hi , Any one have any Ricky Ford titles on Muse or Candid to sell or trade? I have a couple but please give a list. Thanks Quote
relyles Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I think that most, if not all of the Muse titles have never been reissued on CD in their entirety. I think there is a 32 Jazz compilation from the Muse stuff, but all of those great sextets (septets?) he did with James Spaulding are still waiting to be reheard. I have all of the Muse LPs. Quote
relyles Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I was wrong. According to AMG at least Hard Groovin and Saxotic Stomp have at one time been available on CD. I just also remembered that I own Tenor Madness Too on CD. Quote
Late Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 This one is very much worth owning. Great remastering and a nice selection of tunes picked by Ford himself. Get it for cheap! Quote
robviti Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 if you don't already have ford's debut, i strongly recommend getting it. used copies are readily available online for just a few dollars. Quote

Well, maybe not re-mastered, but the CD booklet (for the Ford title in question) says "Mastered by Gene Paul at DB Plus Digital Services, NYC." Regardless, the CD sounds pretty good to me! For anyone with an interest in Ford, I'd say this is a very good sampler of his Muse work. The track "Esse Nosso Amor" is everything the music for The Bill Cosby show wanted to be. Quote
Late Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 How would you all rate Tenor Madness Too? Quote
